Blustery Night

The winds were howling last night; it was unbelievable. I woke up several times worried about the flag pole, because it's wooden, and to comfort Matthew who cried most of the night. Not getting enough sleep because you're tossing and turning can sure wear the body, and the mind down, thank goodness Jeff called at about 5 am. Waking up from a dreaming state, I just wondered, "Who in the world would be calling at this hour?" DUH!!! I was so thrilled to hear his voice. He let me know that he safely made it to Iraq, but he's not quite sure where exactly he's located. He is on one of the biggest bases in Iraq and will be there for a few days before going to the base that he will be working at.

Our day went about in the usual fashion, so really nothing to report. I was able to get in a nap this afternoon, a very much needed nap of course. I did spend some time on the computer creating a scrapbook page using our new family picture. Want to see it? Of course you do.

I absolutely love digial scrapbooking! I can push out a layout whenever I have a few minutes to spare without getting out a truckload of paper supplies.

Jeff was able to call again this evening so that he could talk with the kids. They almost didn't want to talk with him, because they didn't feel the need. I am so grateful that they are dealing so well with this change in their lives. Because of the expense of Jeff calling, we've decided that he should probably only call once a week. Hopefully the kids will appreciate his calls more if he doesn't call as often. I know I will.
