The First Couple Days

We've had our ups and downs, but for the most part we're doing pretty good considering. Saturday night was very difficult for Matthew. He cried for 2 straight hours saying, "I want daddy." It was so hard not to cry with him but I knew that I had to be strong. Once he finally calmed down he was able to fall asleep with me. Alayna also came into bed with us.

It snowed on Saturday night, about 4 inches. So, while the kids were getting ready for church I dressed up as warm as possible and headed outside to shovel snow. It wasn't too hard, good thing I'm in shape, well, pretty much in shape.

Church was great, and so much needed by us. The kids were really reverent during Sacrament Meeting and had a great time in Primary. There were only a couple of times that I really felt like crying, but holding to my claim that I must be strong I only let out a couple of tears. So many people came up to me and asked me how we were doing. I could just say "good". It is so hard to express how I am feeling to them who do not understand.

So how am I really feeling? Well. . .great! Of course I really miss Jeff, but I am comforted knowing that this is the Lord's plan for us at this time. What else can I say or what more do I need to explain? I will not deny what I have felt as I have prayed about this decision. That is how we are doing so well, we know this is the Lord's will.

There has already be some great changes in the kids as well, and it's probably mostly come from the blessings that we all received on Friday. Last night Donovan asked me if he could do the dishes for me. He did it without any thought of reward. This is the first time that he has ever done chores without a bribe. All the kids have been playing so well together too. In fact, right now they are playing the Nintendo without fighting. That doesn't happen too often. When Jeff left I was really preparing for the worst. I really thought that the kids would completely breakdown and become very difficult to deal with. We have truly been blessed that they are behaving so well.

Well, it is President's Day today and we are going to play outside in the new snow. But first, we need to go shopping for some more hot chocolate. Until next time.
